Charleston, Myrtle Beach And the Biltmore November 14-20, 2010 Christmas Trip Tenative Itinerary Sun. Nov 14, '10 Depart from Miami Valley area. Today is a travel day. Stop every 2 1/2 hrs for restroom break. Meals today are "on your own" (not included in trip pkg). Check into our hotel. Mon. Nov 15, '10 Meet our area tour guide. Lunch "on your own" on King Street. Historic Charleston tour. Heyward-Washington House c. 1772 houses finest collection of Charleston made furniture in city. Has the only original kitchen building open to the public. St Michael's church--oldest in city. Many other points of interest. Dinner at Crab House Restaurant (included meal) Tues. Nov 16, '10 Visit 2 of most beautiful plantations in the lowcountry--both were owned by the Drayton family. Drayton Hall c. 1738 considered finest Georgian Palladian plantation house in the South. Magnolia Gardens also a Drayton ancestral home with beautiful romantic gardens. After touring gardens, board the tram to view the Audubon Swamp Garden--will put the visitor in close contact with water loving creatures. May see an alligator and will have the opportunity to view the abundant bird population of lowcountry. Enjoy delicious boxed lunch at Magnolia Pavilion--Chicken Waldorf Salad on sourdough bread, lettuce & tomato, pasta salad, pickle, chips, cookie & iced tea. (included meal in trip pkg) Spirit of Carolina Dinner Cruise--cruise Charleston's beautiful harbor by moonlight aboard the 100' luxury yacht. View of the city and it's church spires is fantastic from the water. Dance to music of live band. Entree choices made at table. Nov 17, '10 Today we travel to Myrtle Beach and enjoy our day. Shopping and lunch (on your own) at Broadway on the Beach, exciting Christmas show and evening meal (included in trip pkg) at Broadway on the Beach too!! We will return to Charleston around 11:00pm--tired but happy from such a full day of activity! Thurs. Nov 18, '10 Today we meet our tour guide and travel to South Carolina lowcountry. Over 100 yrs ago, tea planters brought their finest tea bushes from China, India, & Ceylon here to the lowcountry. The descendants of those plants are still growing on a serene sea island near Charleston. Informative and educational tour of the factory and a visit to the girft shop will complete our day. Fri. Nov 19, '10 Today we travel to Asheville, NC. We will tour the Biltmore Mansion and the Asheville area. We will stay tonight in the Asheville area. Sat. Nov 20, '10 Today we return to the Miami Valley. We have enjoyed the many sights we have seen and the new friends that we have made.
