Thursday, October 21, '10 Depart the Miami Valley area. Travel Day. We stop every 2 1/2 hours for restroom stops. Lunch will be "on your own" (not included in trip package). Will stay 2 night's at Ramada Ligonier, 216 W Loyalhanna St, Ligonier, PA 15658 (724)238-9545
 
Thursday, October 21st
2pm-3:30pm     Guided tour of Fort Ligonier. Step back to 18th century frontier life. Enjoy the fabulous exhibit, The World Ablaze, along with young George Washington's orginal memoirs, pistols, & portrait on display. Tour the 8 acre site including cannons, wagons, and 10 furnished buildings.
 
3:45pm-5pm      Free shopping time in historic Ligonier. More than 60 speciality shops.
 
5pm                  Red Carpet roll out & welcome reception at the Ramada Ligonier.
 
6pm-7:30pm      Colonial buffet at the hotel with costumed servers & period entertainment
 
Friday, October 22nd
7:15am-8:15am  Full breakfast buffet at the hotel.
 
9am-10:15am     Tour of the Johnstown Flood Museum. On May 31, 1889, a neglected dam & a phenomenal storm led to a catastrophe in which 2,209 people died. Learn about this story of great tragedy, but also of triumphant recovery.
 
10:45am-11:45am Visit the Somerset Historical Center. Our tour includes a 1773 log cabin, cider press demonstration, maple sugar camp, & a "Spotza Party" where the group will assist in making their own homemade spun maple sugar treat. A covered bridge is on site here. Motorcoaches are not able to drive through the bridge.
 
12:15pm-1:45pm  Lunch on own in historic Ligonier
 
2pm-3:330pm      Guided tour of the Compass Inn Museum. At this authentically restored 1799 stagecoah stop, costumed docents tell the story of transportation & life during the early 1800's. The tour includes inn, cookhouse, barn, blacksmith shop, and a quick stop at the gift shop.
 
3:45pm-4:30pm   Free time to relax & refresh at the hotel before dinner.
 
530pm-6pm         Arrive at the Rockwood Mills Shoppes & Opera House (time to     browse the shops before dinner)
 
6pm-9pm            Dinner & Show at the Rockwood Mill Shoppes & Opera House
 
Saturday, October 23rd
7:30am-8:30am   Full breakfast buffet at the hotel before departure
 
9am-9:30am        Visit National Park Service site, Flight 93 Memorial. A brieg visit to pay our respects & remember the impact on so many lives on that fateful day, Sept. 11th, 2001.
 
9:45am-10:45am  A special visit to the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel. It embraces all of the passengers and pays special tributes in honor of the heroes/heroines aboard Flight 93.
 
11:45am-12:15pm Stop at the QueCreek Mine Rescue Site. A captivating story!
Experience the miraculous rescue of nine miners trapped for over 77 hours. Here the group will visit the Quecreek Memorial where the Arnold Family will tell this incredible story that allows you to realize a higher power and the spirit of teamwork that made it all possible.
 
12:45pm-2:15pm  Luncheon at the Inn at Georgian Place followed by a tour of this turn-of-the-century mansion.
 
2:30pm              Depart for home.
